According to court records, a 30-year-old man, identified as Ainsley, has been sentenced to 33 years in prison for the brutal murder of his wife, identified as Moesha, who was just 24 years old at the time of her death. The crime where Ainsley killed his wife with a machete took place in their home while their small children were present.
The incident unfolded on the morning of April 26, 2022. Moesha, desperately trying to escape her attacker, managed to get outside their house but tragically collapsed in the street and succumbed to her injuries shortly after.
Firefighters, who were returning from another call, were the first to encounter the harrowing scene. They immediately stopped to provide aid, recognizing the urgency of the situation. Police Chief Fernando detailed how the firefighters found Moesha in severe distress and quickly realized she needed medical attention.
Police officers arrived soon after, finding Moesha with multiple severe injuries, including cuts to her neck and wrist. The investigation revealed that the attack was a result of domestic violence that had escalated that morning inside the house where the couple lived with their four children.
Two of their children, aged 3 and 5, were at home during the incident, while their two older siblings were at school. The two children who witnessed the tragic event were later found hiding in the house and were taken to the hospital for evaluation. Subsequently, they were placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
