Omaha, Nebraska – Authorities have released details regarding a recent incident involving a 33-year-old individual who, after causing a vehicular accident, disrobed and discharged a firearm at oncoming traffic.
The individual, identified by the Omaha Police Department as a 33-year-old man, faces multiple charges including first-degree felony assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and discharging a firearm at an occupied vehicle.
Official reports from OPD state that the accused, named Stuart, collided his red Chevy pickup with a cement barrier in the vicinity of the I-680/I-80 interchange around 11:30 a.m. Following the collision, Stuart allegedly vacated his vehicle, removed his clothing, and proceeded to fire shots at passing vehicles. During this episode, a vehicle was hit, inflicting a minor injury upon its driver.
The police have further confirmed that for a brief period, Stuart was designated as an active shooter on the interstate, until his subsequent apprehension at the scene. By approximately noon, the situation was firmly under control, as stated by OPD.
