Omaha, Nebraska – The Omaha Fire Department (OFD) successfully extinguished a house fire in mere minutes after arriving at the scene. This rapid response potentially saved lives and prevented further property damage.
The fire occurred near 32nd and Q streets, with fire crews responding around 9 p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, they observed visible smoke and immediately declared it a working fire. Demonstrating their expertise and readiness, the OFD teams managed to extinguish the fire within a short time frame, showcasing their commitment to public safety and emergency responsiveness.
The Omaha Fire Investigators conducted a thorough examination and determined that the fire was accidentally caused by unattended cooking.
Unfortunately, the fire resulted in injuries. Six individuals were taken to the emergency room for treatment. In terms of property damage, the OFD reported significant losses. The structure itself suffered damages estimated at $40,000, while the contents within the house accounted for an additional $12,500 in losses.
