Two Omaha women charged after major retail theft

Omaha, Nebraska – In a significant theft case unfolding in Grand Island, two Omaha women have been charged with stealing a substantial amount of clothing from a local store. Tiffany Mack, 31, and Kassandra Rolling, 29, both residents of Omaha, are facing serious charges in Hall County Court following their alleged involvement in a shoplifting incident.

The incident in question occurred at Dick’s Sporting Goods, located at 2250 N. Webb Road. Grand Island Police were called to the scene at 1 p.m. on Wednesday after a shoplifting report was made. Investigations revealed that Mack and Rolling were suspected of taking clothing items valued at over $8,100. According to court records, the duo allegedly removed the clothing from store shelves and placed them into four large bags that they had acquired from Kohl’s.

A key break in the case occurred when a witness noticed the suspects’ vehicle at Kohl’s, situated at 221 Wilmar Ave. The police were promptly informed, leading to the encounter with Mack and Rolling. During this interaction, Mack initially misled the officers by identifying herself as “Tara.” However, her true identity was later uncovered by the authorities.

Further investigations led to a search of the vehicle used by Mack and Rolling. The search resulted in the discovery of multiple items from TJ Maxx, located at 201 Wilmar Ave. Staff from this store subsequently reported that the two women had taken items without paying, with the value of these items being less than $500.

As a consequence of these actions, Mack has been charged with theft by shoplifting (involving amounts both over $5,000 and under $500) and false reporting. Her bond has been set at 10% of $250,000, and she is expected to return to court on Dec. 5.

Rolling faces similar charges, including theft by shoplifting (with the same monetary brackets as Mack) and possession of an ounce or less of marijuana. She was scheduled for arraignment in Hall County Court at 11 a.m. on Thursday. This case highlights the severity of retail theft and its repercussions, as both women now confront serious legal challenges.
