Omaha, Nebraska – The Nebraska Humane Society (NHS) announced that an unfortunate flooding incident within the shelter’s medical department was triggered by a burst pipe. This pipe was an integral part of the facility’s fire suppression system.
Upon discovering the issue, the dedicated staff at the shelter took swift and efficient measures to secure the wellbeing of the animals under their care. They managed to promptly evacuate all animals from the affected medical department, while simultaneously curbing the spread of water towards the dog kennels, thus averting a potentially catastrophic scenario.
As a result of the incident, it has been necessary to temporarily relocate the shelter’s medical operations. These vital services are being accommodated in the Spay and Neuter Center, which is currently not operational for its usual services.
In light of these circumstances, the Nebraska Humane Society is inviting members of the public to extend their support. They have expressed their gratitude in advance for any donations made through their official website. These funds will undoubtedly contribute to the resolution of this unfortunate event and help ensure the continued health and safety of the animals in their care.
