Omaha Police investigate early morning shooting near Ames Avenue

Omaha, Nebraska – The Omaha Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, resulting in the injury of an individual in the vicinity of Ames Avenue.

Officers from the Omaha Police Department promptly responded to reports of shots being fired in the vicinity of North 25th and Taylor Streets at approximately 3:45 a.m. Subsequently, the 911 call was updated to indicate a shooting near Ames Avenue.

The victim, identified as Krishna Johnigan, aged 20, was discovered at the scene with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Nebraska Medicine in critical condition, as stated by the police.
