Two women found dead in Omaha home, suspect faces murder charges

Omaha, Nebraska – Law enforcement agencies have reported the arrest of a man following the tragic discovery of two deceased women at a residential location just north of Omaha this past Thursday.

On the evening of that day, at approximately 9 p.m., deputies hailing from Douglas County were summoned to a dwelling situated near 89th Court and Newport Plaza. The nature of the call pertained to concerns for the individuals’ welfare residing within that property.

Upon arrival, the law enforcement personnel were met with a grim sight. They located the lifeless bodies of Lisa Cannon, aged 55, and Marquesha Cannon, who was 30. This distressing revelation was officially announced by the sheriff’s office.

Post investigation, the authorities reached a decision, categorizing the unfortunate demise of both women as instances of homicide. This conclusion, shared with the public, was based on the evidence accumulated by the sheriff’s office during the course of their inquiries.

Subsequent to these initial discoveries, the deputies succeeded in identifying a potential suspect in connection to the aforementioned crimes. The individual, a 22-year-old named Fernandez Mason, was subsequently located and apprehended by the officers.

In the aftermath of these events, Mason finds himself under arrest, held under suspicion of dual counts of first-degree murder. In addition, he stands accused of two counts pertaining to the utilization of a weapon with the intention to commit a felony. As a news editor, it is my responsibility to stress the fact that these are current allegations and further developments in this ongoing case will be reported as more information becomes available.
