Man grabbed a hunting knife and fatally stabbed his wife several times while their daughter was next to them in the bed only because she did not respond to his “affection in bed” and only wanted to remain friends for the kids; arrested

A 53-year-old man, later identified as Moises, has been arrested following a domestic dispute that ended with violence where he fatally stabbed his 43-year-old wife, later identified as Veronica, in an incident that occurred while their 5-year-old daughter was sleeping next to them in the bed.

Moises, who had been married to Veronica since 1999, was taken into custody and charged with one count of first-degree murder. The arrest came after authorities responded to a distress call at the couple’s residence, where they discovered Veronica had been fatally stabbed. According to the police, Moises harbored unfounded suspicions that his wife was having an affair, which he cited as a motive behind his actions.

According to the arrest affidavit, Moises became upset when Veronica did not believe his made-up story about his car breaking down and refused to pick him up, so when he got home later, his wife was already laying in bed next to their daughter, and they started arguing. He took a hunting knife and placed it next to their bed before going to sleep. Moises then tried to hug Veronica several times, but she pushed him away, at which point he lost it. That’s when he grabbed the knife and stabbed his wife two times, once in the back and once in the neck, resulting in her death. Following the attack, Moises attempted to cover up the crime by cleaning the weapon and changing their daughter’s bloodied pajamas.

Moises later confessed to the crime when speaking to a friend, who then contacted authorities. When talking to investigators, Moises said they agreed they would not have ѕeх and would live together and remain friends for the kids. He also admitted that if Veronica had responded to his affection in bed, he would not have killed her. Despite his claims of no prior intent to harm his wife, the evidence suggests a deliberate act of violence. The confession he made to his friend, along with his own admission to law enforcement about the events leading up to and following the attack, played a crucial role in his arrest and charge. Moises remains in custody at the county’s detention center without bond, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 11. The investigation is ongoing.
